The heavy weather has definitely set in. This week's downpour is full of life enriching musical elements that will provide you an inspiring listening experience full of 80s love to get you through these damp days and storm filled nights.
While the showers persist it's seems like the perfect time to get rockin with Lazerhawk's latest track Children of The Night. This is another work from the impending Skull and Shark comic he's collaborating on and it's one of the darkest pieces we've heard from Lazerhawk in many a moon. Definitely well in keeping with the mood of the visuals and if you've not had the pleasure yet please view the preview to Skull And Shark here.
Python Blue is expanding his horizons in each new release. His once dominant ambient soundtrack style has blossomed into pure OutRun gold in his just published track High Ways. This producer's understanding of what gives power and spatial depth to his arrangements is very well displayed in this piece.
A new rocker on the scene with a sound as intriguing as his name caught my attention this week. Right Knider's sounds have a bit of a skewed out-of-time bent to them but the soundscape is thoroughly engaging as melodies as cast like spells full of powerful elements. This is currently available for FREE download also.
The next track is a bit of an oddity, that I found as engaging as it is perplexing. Asian Ganja Crew's eclectic styles heard in their previous release seem to have found a home in the 80s funk dimension if their preview track on Bandcamp is anything to go by. Even as this short preview I can't help but br intrigued by this release. I'm yet to take the plunge on the full record, but I think it's a calculated risk I'll be taking over the next week. If the rest of the album is as rockin as Horn I'll be sure to give this record some love on Synthetix.FM in the near future.
Neon Flash Drive's made a stunning return to the scene after a near six month hiatus with superb new work, Caught Her Name At Recess. This is a pure and rich synth romance experience, full of emotion and deep like a first crush. Beautiful from beginning to end and also available as a FREE download.
Keeping the love rockin all the right ways is the new one from Adeyhawke: Looker. Synths dodge and weave in an out of totally killer bassline and the experience feels naturally free-form as it builds. This is full of 80s magic and accented by some more modern arrangements with an end result that is bitchen to the max.
Moving to more dramatic times is the new track from Silenx. Dataflow's mechanised coldness and sparseness is orchestrated with drama being the dominant force. This track feels austere and methodical with a machine like precision that brings to mind a eerie bleakness. Totally spellbinding.
Britain's Saint Remy has been dabbling in many forms of electronic music in recent times but in his latest work he's definitely found his love and desire for 80s sounds blossoming. Nearly Lost Her is a slow burn full of emotionally charged melodies and arranged with an interesting flair. It's quite unlike anything else with it's repeated samples and clean piano details, but it's story is beautifully written from beginning to end.
Jupiter Gang, along with a handful of other artists are on my list called "Please release a goddamn album already". This producer is one of the most rockin in the scene doing 80s synth funk and his latest track, Under Arrest, adds some very interesting drama to the soundscape. It's got 80s cop action shakedown written all over it, which is supremely entertaining.
Keeping things funky, but a bit more fried is the new preview for Aminova's Research. The music has a very 16bit personality to it, but it's not what I'd call ChipTune music. The Aminova magic is ever present throughout and this producer's hallmark melodies are a joy to once again behold.
Droid Bishop keeps on rockin with his latest EP teaser Electric Love Interlude. This piece of synth romance is delightfully engineered with a heartfelt beauty that permeates through the synth melodies. It bodes very well for the full EP which I can only hope is going to be released soon.
Neon Workout's really kicking some major amounts of arse of late, his new preview/sketch of L.S.F.E goes great lengths to show his proficiency in creating super hot sounds. This has an infectious electro funk vibe that totally kills. Very promising, and hopeful a sign that a full EP or LP release will he happening soon.
Alpha Boy is going through a wonderfully diverse experimental period this last month or so and his latest foray is into an interesting library-esque style. His sounds work really well for this style, and the inclusion of new samples adds even more to the experience. Definitely something the Alpha Boy style works well with.
I'm not sure whether Run Vaylor's latest track is called New Beginning for it's name only or whether he's ushering in a new era in the Run Vaylor experience. Either way this composition is stunning to be behold as it remains wonderfully epic in scope, but intimates with emotional melodies wonderfully. This track is currently available for FREE download also.
For my tastes, Futurecop! had lost their ways in recent times. A lot of their sounds that I found absolutely stunning have been succeeded by far less engaging pieces to my ears. With their latest release, Superheroes, they've enlisted the always glowing Kristine and this has made for quite a special experience. That said, I wish there were less effects used on Kristine's voice as her 's is one of perfection and grace that has no need for extra processing. It's probably only me who has this issue with Superheroes and as a work of 80s crossover it works rather well.
Rockin back to some classic italo disco is the new Spacious Sweep piece Radiant. I love the Spacious Sweep italo sound and this is brought right up front in Radiant. Driving basslines, catch melodies and on point percussion make for a very authentic experience.
Fanateek One's brand of rocking 80s funk synth is once again lighting up the night skies with his mysteriously titled F One #13 Day 2 composition. Spaces are kept open and unconstrained and there's little to confuse the intentions as delectable melodies are coated in sweet candy gloss.
A new rocker from Norway who's taking the 80s deep into his heart is Transcend. His just released Years is bright and joyous with layers of synth romance working in total harmony. I hope this producer continues his 80s love affair in the future. This track is also available for FREE download.
Arc Neon are back with some sexy summer synth sounds in their instrumental version of Wet Dreams. The Arc Neon sound is developing it's own personality that is evenly balance with light and dark elements, making for a superb contrast in their music. This track epitomises this and totally rocks throughout. Also available currently for FREE download, so get on it as soon as you can.
Our final entry in this week's Weekend Update flood is a kick arse new synth pop odyssey from Who Ha called Out Running. This producer's really got a killer style and his vocals are totally rockin the right 80s personality. If that wasn't enough there's also an instrumental version available too. Very authentic, in both forms, and totally k-rad to the max.
That does us for yet another tsunami sized Weekend Update on Synthetix.FM. I'll be back soon with more good times and great rock'n'roll next week. 'Til then, stay 80s and keep on rockin!

Synthetix Weekend Update
Tomorrow, Monday the 4th of February 2013, marks the one year anniversary for Synthetix. Tomorrow there will be some changes to your favourite internet channel for 80s inspired synth music which I hope will be exciting and enhancing to your Synthetix experience. For now though, it's time for another massive Weekend Update. So let's get rockin!
First up is a hot new track from Vector Hold. This high energy piece of action is positively bursting at the seams with quick melodies, flashing nuances and percussive drama. Once again Vector Hold strikes a beautiful balance between 80s inspired synth and 80s video game music. Currently available for FREE download also.
Miami Nights 1984 spun his synth magic on Sally Shapiro's "Starman" featuring Electric Youth and the result is a bitchen experience that ticks all the boxes for a totally kick arse 80s synth pop classic. MN1984's remixes are always in the upper echelon in the scene and this reinforces his stature for quality remixes in every respect.
80s Stallone is back for the attack with a demo cut of his new experience: True Romance. This forgoes much of the italo sounds of recent 80s Stallone and provides a slightly darker OutRun-feeling track. I love the lead melodies that colour the soundscape brightly while the shadows threaten to ovewhelm.
A discovery courtesy of Neros77 this week was a new producer on the scene called Hamblok. His track Desert Rose is a serenely arranged cascade of beautiful melodies and expansive details. I can feel the heat of the sun and the breath of the wind in every second. Hopefully we will be experiencing more Hamblok music in the future on Synthetix.
Adding some moroseness to the serenity is AKAHands Down's new track Strain. As this pieces moves along it wends and grooves through a very ethereal space, the energies feel dark, but not to the point blackness. There's a hope in the melody that is uplifting and very engaging.
The enigmatic Mitch Murder unleashed another gem from his imagination this week called Interceptor. With definite leanings to the 80s neo-tokyo stylings this is one of the more sparse Mitch Murder experiences I've heard. The layering is kept to a minimum and the sounds are allowed to evolve in an uncomplicated manner that is very refreshing.
Like Mowrey has just begun his dark italo styled musical journey only recently and has shared a few of experiences on his soundcloud, which I've found very entertaining. His latest track, Emerald Hill his a shadowy space disco monolith with beautiful ambience and wonderful instrumentation. Many thanks to Denovomutans for enlightening me to this producer.
I always look forward to hearing new Sternrekorder music. Since this producer has returned to the scene late last year his new sounds have become even more eclectic and inventive. His latest work KRazy KR-55 sounds like a classic late 70s experimental synth work with a heavy injection of Sternrekorder magic.
Keeping to the avant garde end of the synth spectrum is the wonderfully titled Coconut Hologram from Aminova. Once again this producer adds new light and colours to the 80s synth experience and expands the soundscape into previously unknown dimensions. Total Aminova magic.
A pillar of the 80s inspired synth community, Eduardo Del Pozo, shared a magnificent new discovery this week in the form of Highway Superstar. This new producer has firmly stamped his name on the ninja-synth genre with his new track Whistling Shurikens. Epic, dramatic and sharpened like Sho Kosugi's very own ninjato.
Keeping the action frenetic and the drama intense is a sterling new demo from Kid Machine called Black Futura. The synthscape is rife with danger as flashing lights and electricity charge the atmosphere in a situation where getting out alive is your only hope. Even as an unmastered demo this a scintillating experience.
Last but certainly not least we have an incredible new experience from Jaypeau in his epic track Thrasher. This supercharged composition of high energy synths and ripping guitars is thoroughly amazing. The sounds and arrangements are 100% authentic while the production is, simply put, flawless in delivery. I dearly hope this becomes available to download or purchase soon.
That does us for another kick arse week in the world of 80s inspired synth music. Remember to tune in tomorrow for a one year anniversary spectacular on Synthetix that I hope will rock you even harder. Till then stay 80s and keep on rockin!

Synthetix Weekend Update
It's Weekend Update time again on Synthetix! Lots of rockin new music is ready to take your weekend to the next level so brace yourself and prepare for take off!
80s synthaficionado Garth Knight's new track 88 MPH is another sterling piece from this industrious producer. Garth's been dabbling in some more modern style of late, so I'll be very interested to see where 2013's musical journey takes him, but I have a feeling that his heart will always be in the 80s.
A producer new to me that I'd like to welcome into the Synthetix family is Pumping Body from Poland. This artist has lots tracks of different 80s denominations on his soundcloud and it looks like he's finding his true calling in these classic sounds. His latest release a marvellous experience in beautifully executed Synth Romance. Pumping Body is definitely a bright star ready to explode in the 80s synth scene.
Keeping in the Eastern European sphere the new track from Russia's Bluezz Vylez is remix of London Goodbye by Car-Man. This is a totally rockin remix that reminds me so much of mid 80s dark synth pop. The sounds are full of drama and the vocal track is stunning in it's delivery.
A new work-in-progress from the ever inspiring Aminova surfaced this week. Nightwatch is beautifully crafted piece of soundtrack synth work that even in it's current unfinished form is full of wonder. Truly entrancing music.
Time for some kick arse italo synth and Super Magic Records has really nailed the genre in their new release Secret Energy. So many classic sounds and progresssions make this experience feel 100% authentic, the orchestral stabs add an extra layer of gold to proceedings.
Another new producer who's walking the path of musical enlightenment is Nightdrive. This new producer is still finding his own sound but his new track, Far Away, is definitely taking him in an exciting direction. The atmosphere of this soundtrack synth styled track is very engaging and I'll be looking forward to hearing more from him in the future.
Plaisance fast became one of my favourite new producers towards the end of 2012. This French artisan of 80s synth dreams has created lots of magical experiences thus far and his new two track release, So Fresh, shows even more development in his sound. Totally k-rad in every respect.
80s Stallone keeps on rockin his senstational 80s sounds in his track Reflections. This is apparently an older demo that is still unfinished, but I think it's a wonderfully emotive track has a superb air of ethereal magic and full of quality 80s Stallone hallmarks.
From the new compilation by Glacis Records is a kick arse new track from Tiam Wills. This another one of those tracks that combines just the right amounts of classic and modern elements to create something special, especially with the samples used. The Friendly compilation from Glacis Records also has Lueur Verte's classic Beaute Glaciale as well as a new track from Awkoder amongst the many varied electronic music styles included. This compilation is available on Glacis' soundcloud here for FREE.
Hot on the heels of their recent EP reviewed earlier this week on Synthetix we have another magnificent new experience from Stellar Dreams. The Crusader has a perfect melody and the track progresses and evolves in spectacular fashion. I'm not 100% convinced the guitar sound is the best match for the track, but the other parts are absolutely exceptional.
To finish off this week's Weekend Update is a new audio visual experience from Synthetix favourite LA Dreams. The music video experience of First To The Finish is a spectacular tour de force of thrilling cycling action and action packed synth work in LA Dreams' resplendent style.
First to the Finish line from Nivek on Vimeo.
That does us for another massive Weekend Update on Synthetix, I'll be back next week with more k-rad rockin action from all the hottest acts in the 80s inspired synth scene.

Aminova Develops Clarity
Aminova's synthesised symphonies have been developing with each new release. His last Ep, Variants, was absolutely stunning in scope, sound and space. With his latest EP, Clarity, Aminova takes his sound in even more directions and into previously unknown and untapped territory. This five track release contains four originals and a remix of the title track by Lolski, making for a very complete and satisfying experience.
Clarity is an especially apt title for this EP. The clearness of sounds and emotion make for a spatial transparency, each track takes different cues for these, but all our bound by an overall invisible window of aural glass; reflective, brilliant and a planar existence unto itself.
Hollow City opens the affair with a spatially expansive synthscape of sparseness but full of presence. Each sound feels liks like another element that combines into one vista. The layering of the rhythms and melodies coerce the listener through many details that remain beautifully separated and uncomplicated. This delivery combines into an electro synth experience of colourful and bright sounds with the crispness of a new day, but with emotion that feels timeless. The sounds resonate through the Hollow City, reverberating and echoing throughout it's husk of cavernous buildings, while still remaining somehow intimate. Beauty lies in the crumbling facades of even the most dillapidated construction.
The second track of Clarity is the positively luminous Lux Maxis. This brings to mind the staccato basslines of previous Aminova affairs, something that is totally engaging to listen to. It's a positively more funk oriented piece than the opener and allows an almost freeform format for the track to build and evolve through. A jazzy and bright piece, that careens in multiple directions at once but always remaining in a deep groove of beautiful synth radiance.
Things take a turn to synth rock with Challengers Champions, the third movement of Clarity. The American sports comentator sample at the start sets the tone for rocktastic rhythms and powerful driving beats. The synthesized guitars are used very nicely in this piece, not taking on a pretence of convincing the listener they're listening to an actual guitar, but more making a familiar sound take on a new electronic personality that dives, ducks and weaves with the greatest of ease. Through this track I'm reminded of The Young God's early 90s work, which is always to be encouraged in this type of affair. This piece rocks hard however, and the beauty of the synths combined with the brawn of the synth guitars is truly delectable combination.
The title track of the EP completes the four compass points of the EP. We're treated with a slight return to the textures and moments of the Hollow City, as the spatially vast sounds build and form before us. Theres a new light in this experience though as the solemnity of the opening salvo gives way to a much more uplifiting and joyous adventure. Once again the magic of the Aminova bassline construction is the driving force behind the shooting stars and wistful synth melodies. There is an almost tactile new age feel to this piece, be it from the sound selection or the spiritually charged arrangements. It's a beautiful experience, and ends the quadrilogy of soundscapes perfectly.
The Lolski Andromeda Extended Remix of Clarity takes the original through a a dimension of shiny nu-disco, making the energy change colour as a new aura is bestowed up the piece. This works well and gives the sounds a chance to make their way into a energised cavalcade of pumping rhythms while still keeping its sould bright and true.
Future City Records presents Aminova's Clarity EP on their Bandcampe page here for the low price of $3.50. This is a wonderful new excursion into the expanding Aminova galaxy that guides the listener through new yet familiar dimensions, the Clarity of which is always beautiful to behold. A Synthetix Approved Experience is most certainly assured.

Aminova's Variants
Aminova has been producing lots of quality 80s synth pieces over the last couple of years and his newest EP is a journey of distinction that improves upon the Aminova experience and elevates into new and wondrous dimensions.
Variants opens up with an introductory vignette called Edges. This almost esoteric piece sets a peacefully contemplative scene, while galaxies spin overhead and a golden light begins to pulse in time with our vitality, building with more and more fervour and setting the perfect platform for the EP.
Our second Variant is Palaces, which opens very strongly and continues to enthrawl the listener. This piece is coloured with so many accents of beautiful synth sounds that it's almost freeform. It's lightness and texture of pure vibrance eminate deeply, it's a soulful and meandering work that offers greater and greater reward with each listen.
Variant number three injects some more excitement into the experience with a bouncy piece of delightfully funky synth called Cut Glass Accent. Once again layers are woven with precision, balance and vigour, powering this track to glory with absolutely stunning bassline. The solos and leads compliment eachother marvellously as we are totally engulfed in a synth funk odyssey. This definitely one of the most perfectly crafted pieces of music I've heard this year.
Corner is the next stop on Aminova's interdimensional voyage, winding things back to the ethereal tones of Edges, a revisiting to this opening theme. Time stands still as digital nymphs of synths dance above our heads a glittering display. Magically entrancing.
Our final Variant is Amoureuse, a very emotional piece which asks more questions than it answers. The melodies query the listener, leading them into unfamiliar recesses of feelings, but before our answers can fully be realised sweetly delivered synth solos bring a finger to our lips to prevent us from even the merest utterance. The questions remain unanswered, and our contentment becomes evident through the experience alone, which is ultimately very deeply satisfying.
Variant's marks a big stage in the evolution of the Aminova experience, this is a superb release in every respect, spanning many styles, emotions and dimensions. It feels very complete and makes for totally wonderful experience I look forward to going back to time and time again.
The EP is available on Playmaker's Bandcamp here and is priced at the buyer's discretion. You can follow Aminova on his soundcloud here and give him lots of Facebook love here.

The EP is available on Playmaker's Bandcamp here and is priced at the buyer's discretion. You can follow Aminova on his soundcloud here and give him lots of Facebook love here.

Adoring Aminova's Amoureuse
Aminova's history in synth dreamwave has been very prolific. Numerous releases from this UK artist have always been moving experiences of atmospherically alluring quality. His The Transfer and Laser Beach EPs (both available on his Bandcamp page) are stellar works in the field of classic synth music and both come as highly recommended listening from my perspective.
His most recent track, Amoureuse, is a delightful trip into the synthesized stratosphere with an opening worthy of a classic Dario Argento giallo thriller. This gives way to melancholy melodies full of passion and drama, never relenting in keeping our attention firmly transfixed on the aural ambience filling the sky.
All this, and this track is only a preview! I look forward to hearing more from this adventure into the realms of Aminova and hope you do too. Give him some kudos on soundcloud for his stellar symphonies and keep up with the developments on this latest project on his Facebook page also.
